India includes some of the leading business empire in the world such as Tata, Reliance, Wipro, and more who have played a major role in development of Indian economics.
1. Ratan Naval Tata, Chairman, Tata Sons
Ratan Tata is worldwide famous and started his career with Tata steel. When he was young, he was offered a job in IBM and he politely declared the offer to join his family business. He retired in December, 2012 as a CEO of Tata group of companies.
2. Mukesh D. Ambani, Reliance Industries
He is considered to be the richest man in India and his business is spread across retails, petrochemicals, textiles, and petroleum. After completing his education from Stanford University, he returned to India to take over his family business.
3. Kumar Mangalam Birla, Aditya Birla Group
He is considered to be the youngest Indian to lead a billion dollar company after the death of his father in 1995. This group has found its place in almost every field including finance, tele-communication, fertilizers, retail, cement, and more.
4. Azim Hashim Premji, Wipro
At number four, we have the chairman of one of the largest IT companies in the world. Azim Premji is a Stanford dropout and unexpected death of his father forced him to return to India and take care of his father business.moreover, he has been honoured with ‘Padma Vibhushan’ award in 2011.
5. Chanda Kochhar, ICICI Bank
An MBA graduate from Jamanlal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Chana Kochhar finds its place in the list leading leaders in India. She has been appreciated for her contribution in the banking sector by Padma Bhushan in 2010. She is also considered to be one of the powerful women across the globe.
6. Deepak Parekh, HDFC Bank
A Chartered account by profession, Deepak Parekh joined HDFC in 1978. He has played a major role in the succession of India’s largest Housing and finance institutions.
7. Aninl Manibhai Naik, Larsen & turbo
He joined L&T in 1965 as a junior engineer and got promoted as a general manager in 1986. Seeing his hard work and dedication, the company decided to make him the CEO in 1999. In addition, he has been honoured with Padma Bhushan award in 2009 and also received the Economic Times Awards-Business Leader of the Year.
8. Anand G Mahindra, Mahindra Group
A proud MBA graduate from Harvard Business School, Anand G Mahindra joined Mahindra group in 1991 as a deputy manager. His leadership allowed the company to grow and become one of the leading companies in India.
9. Adi Godrej, Godrej Group
With a net income of $9 billion, Adi is considered to be the second richest Parsi across the globe. His management skills took the business to a new level and then there was no looking back.
10. Kundapur Vaman Kamath, Infosys
After the Narayan Murthy, Kundapur Vaman Kamath took over the responsibility of CEO in 2011. He too received Padma Bhushan award in 2008.
