Considered second only to Hollywood, Bollywood is India’s gift to the film industry. Over the years it has spawned some of the best works in cinema history, and it shows no sign of ever slowing down.
Let’s take a look at the Top 10 Most Emotional Bollywood Movies all time:
10. Devdas
Adapted from a well written novel, it came to the big screen in 2002. It stars Shah Rukh Khan and it’s the classic tale of forbidden love, as the protagonist Devdas falls in love with a girl named Paro. 
Sadly they are not able to get married because of his family. Watch him struggle in the absence of his beloved. This one is sure to make movie goers cry.
9. 3 Idiots
This 2009 release brings us a story about 3 friends, Rancho (Aamir Khan), Raju (Sharman Joshi) and Farhan (R Madhavan), and they are students in an engineering school.
After Rancho suddenly disappears, the two remaining friend embark on a journey to find him. This movie is an emotional rollercoaster and it is proof that director Rajkumar Hirani is a great storyteller.
8. Anjali
This 1990 masterpiece shows us the final month of a girl who is suffering from a deadly neurological condition .
Anjali played by the actress Baby Shamili, manages to deliver a heart-wrecking performance that is sure to stir up plenty of emotion.
7. Taare Zameen Par
First released in 2007, this is a picture brought to us by a director who is a famous actor in his own right, Aamir Khan.
It shows us the struggle of a dyslexic young boy, and his teacher’s attempts to support and tutor him. Their relationship is definitely the most touching part of the movie.
6. Veer Zaara
Can love break all barriers and cross all borders? Watch the wonderful story of Veer (Shahrukh Khan) and Zaara (by Preity Zinta). 
He is a Hindu and she is a Muslim, watch as they try to keep the fire of their love burning as they face adversity. A tale as old as the Earth itself told in such a lively movie.
5. Sadma
Bollywood really exceeded all expectations with this movie in 1983. The main actors are Kamal Hassan and Sridevi. The plot portrays a lady who has regressed to an infantile mind, and her educator tries to support her. 
Here we see humanity’s best trying to make the most out of a bad situation.
4. Rang De Basanti
How we deal with the loss of a friend is one of the most human experiences one could have. Join Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and many others as they try to celebrate the life of a lost friend in this amazing 2006 movie release.
3. Anand
The acting in this 1971 movie is just superb. We see how in the face of death, defiance is the only option. Watch the protagonists Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna struggles with the time he has left and instead of surrendering to sorrow and despair.
A lesson we could all learn and cherish. Needles to say, the movie did great, and it is still one of the best examples of Indian cinema out there.
2. Black
Sightless, voiceless, and unable to hear, the main character (Rani Mukerji) of this 2005 Bollywood movie touches our heart. 
Watch as the girl and the teacher develop a bond that is deeper than words. One would have to be made of stone in order not to cry, or at least be moved.
1.Mother India
This 1957 movie is truly the most emotional Bollywood masterpiece out there. The story is about a woman who struggles to nurture and raise her children in a time of upheaval.
It stars the great Nargis as Radha, and we get to see her resist temptation, overcome disaster and try to save her late husband’s land. This is not only one of the best Indian movies, but also one of the best movies ever.
